We Understand Community Involvement.
Albany’s historic Mt. Zion Baptist Church (founded in 1865) created the Harlem Renaissance Corporation in 2018 to begin redevelopment of the Historic Harlem Business District. The Harlem Renaissance Project is a critical redevelopment project for not only the Historic Harlem District, but the entire South Albany Area.
RECLAIM.
RESTORE.
REINVIGORATE.
RECLAIM. RESTORE. REINVIGORATE.
To catalyze a movement of reinvestment into the once vibrant African American community, the Harlem Renaissance Project will bring a unique and authentic experience, surrounded by rich history and culture to the Historic Harlem Business District. This project will RECLAIM a sense of place, RESTORE residential, commercial, medical, and public uses, and REINVIGORATE a unique live, work, and play environment.
